About Me

Lisa Barnard

You Deserve to Feel Great.

Throughout my career as a teacher and a creative soul, I’ve always been drawn to alternative teaching techniques and methods. Concepts like peer mediation, mindfulness, and holistic or topic-based teaching have captivated my interest. These practices encourage children to express themselves freely and discover their own solutions with non-judgmental support. These principles naturally extend into my Coaching philosophy, creating a nurturing space for people to explore their thoughts and find their answers from within.

My journey to this point has been many years in the making, a result of countless hours of study, a profound transformation of my lifestyle, and significant personal growth. In June 2019, I completed my Certificate IV in Life and Wellness Coaching with The Life Coaching Academy, in Queensland, Australia.

My educational interest didn’t stop there. I earned my teaching degree in December 1992, and throughout the years, I’ve taught both full time and part time, all while raising a family and pursuing further education.

Speaking of family, I’m blessed to be married to an incredibly supportive husband, and together, we have three wonderful children. They’ve been my greatest teachers on this fascinating journey of life and motherhood.

I’m incredibly grateful that you’ve found your way to this space, and I wholeheartedly welcome you with warmth and love.

With gratitude, Lisa xx

My Background

After teaching, kids, and before venturing into life coaching, I managed my own small business as a successful cake decorator. While it was a fulfilling endeavour, I decided to transition it back into a hobby to follow my deeper passion for serving others in a more spiritual and supportive capacity. This shift has given me a unique insight into the challenges of balancing various facets of life.

Ultimately, this has transformed into a deep interest in mental, physical, spiritual and emotional well-being, which has had a profound impact on my own life, as well as my family and friends.

My Approach & Philosophy

In Te reo Māori, Awhi means, to care for, nurture, embrace and cherish – to help or support others.

Above all, my heart is committed to nurturing our future leaders and the foundations upon which they are raised. Children mirror our actions in countless ways, and it’s a responsibility I take to heart.

I recognise the profound influence that adults have on shaping the foundations of our children as future leaders. Just as the roots of a tree are nurtured to ensure a strong and healthy growth, so too are the adults in our community.

By supporting them as parents, we empower them to become the unwavering pillars, like the solid trunk of a mighty Kauri, upon which the aspirations and dreams of our future leaders rest.

Together, we awhi the potential of our children, so they can thrive and flourish, as we know and understand that the strength of our community lies in the strength of those who nurture it.”
